2023 AZ Wing Conference

Register now to attend the 2023 Arizona Wing Annual Conference June 2-4. Get the latest news about CAP at the wing, regional, and national level. Visit with long-time CAP friends, and meet new CAP members from Arizona Wing.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The last day to buy tickets for the Friday mixer, Saturday cadet quesadilla party, Saturday banquet, and Sunday commander's call was Sunday, May 21. Conference-only tickets are still available for senior members and cadets through May 28, as are Level III and Level IV class tickets.

The proposed conference schedule (subject to change) is now available.

FRIDAY, JUNE 1: Level III and IV training will be offered. From 8 am - noon, three Level III modules are offered including: Effective Volunteer Teams, Squadrons and the Missions, Leading People and Managing Stuff. From 1-5 pm, four Level IV modules are offered including: Safety Program for Group and Wing Leaders, Management Principles, Planning and Leading a Major Event, Staff Processes. If you have not completed Level III, please do not register for Level IV unless you just want to audit the classes.

There will be a social mixer that evening (over 21 only please).

SATURDAY, JUNE 2:  There will be a full day of speakers, awards, and breakout sessions:

  • See From CAP Cadet to SpaceX Astronaut, with Maj. (Dr.) Sian Proctor, geoscientist, explorer, space artist, Aerospace Education Officer, and SpaceX astronaut.

  • Cheer for your fellow members as the Arizona Wing "Of the Year" awards are presented along with other recognition of our outstanding members.

  • Test your skills at the sUAS Flying Competition, an event that first occurred at the 2019 wing conference.  (NOTE: If you plan to fly, you must complete the FAA online TRUST exam in advance and bring your completion certificate with you. If you have a Part 107 certificate, you must have that with you in order to fly.) 

  • Take advantage of a full day of activities designed specifically for cadets.

  • Make an appointment to donate at the Operation Pulse Lift blood donation center at the hotel from 10 am to 3 pm.

  • Kick up your heels Saturday evening at the Brisket & Bones BBQ Buffet Banquet.

SUNDAY, JUNE 4: The conference concludes with a Commander's Call for Arizona Wing Group and Squadron Commanders, wing staff.

0800-1200 – Level III training: Effective Volunteer Teams, Squadrons and the Missions, Leading People and Managing Stuff.

1700-1900 Mixer (over 21 only please)


0745-0830 – Registration and Coffee Service

0830-1045 – General Session with national, region, and wing reports; Arizona Wing "of the Year" and other awards; keynote speaker -- Maj. (Dr.) Sian Proctor, geologist, educator, artist, and SpaceX astronaut.

1045-1100 – Break

1100-1700 – Breakout Sessions (Most current agenda with specific topics/times is available here.)

1700-1800 – Cadet Quesadilla Party; Free Time for Senior Members

1800-1900 – Pre-Banquet Cocktail Hour

1900-2130 – Brisket & Bones BBQ Buffet Banquet

The room block at the Prescott Resort and Conference Center closed on May 2. Attendees may call the hotel reservations department at 855-957-4637 and ask for the best available rate. The guaranteed conference rate no longer applies.

Guests will provide their own credit card number to hold their reservation at the time of booking.

Any modifications or additional reservations after the May 2 cutoff date are subject to availability.

It's a BBQ buffet so your dress jeans and best cowboy boots would be appropriate, but any CAP uniform combination from mess dress to blue polo (except ABUs) or civilian business casual will be fine.

Senior Members: No utility uniforms (ABUs, Blue Utility, Distinctive Blue Field Uniform, or Flight Suits) are authorized for wear during the conference activities.

Cadets: ABUs, USAF Style Service Dress (Class A), or USAF long- or short-sleeve (Class B) uniforms may be worn for daytime activities.
