There's a place in CAP for everyone. For cadets, you must be at least 12 years old and not yet 19. For senior members, you don't have to be a pilot or have any military experience. CAP needs teachers, lawyers, IT professionals, chaplains, marketing experts, human resources professionals, and more. Whatever your background or experience, there's a place for you in CAP.

Adults are asked to visit the squadron of their choice and attend three meetings before completing a membership application. If there is more than one squadron near you, it's a good idea to visit both since each squadron is a little different in terms of size and activities.

Youth age 12-18 usually complete an orientation class before becoming members. Check with the squadron of your choice for more information. Contact information is found in the national squadron locator.
